About the Artist

Life before becoming a Pet Portraits Artist: I was born and raised in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe where I grew up to love sport, playing rugby, cricket, golf, squash and tennis for my school. As I grew older, I learned to enjoy the open spaces and the wildlife which is so abundant in that part of the world.  Whenever I had the chance, I would sketch wild animals or one of the many varieties of bird life and eventually started selling them via word of mouth and through various Art Galleries in Zimbabwe.  Much of my artwork is now hanging in many homes scattered across the world. If you would like to look at the Pet Portraits/Wildlife Gallery, you will be able to see a sample of a few of these paintings and drawings.

Life as a Pet Portrait Artist:  I am now settled in Northampton in the beautiful county of Northamptonshire, UK. There had always been pets/dogs and cats in the house that I grew up in and I learned to love and respect them. I had ridden several horses in my youth, although I have to confess that I found it quite difficult to stay on, but enjoyed their power and grace. It is because of this attraction to these animals, and a demand for pet portraits, that I decided to move into this field and it is a decision that I have never regretted.

Much of my inspiration comes from Pet Portraits Artists such as Mick Cawston, whose pet portraits are extraordinary. Harley Brown has also been a huge inspiration.
